Pray Always, Be Believing, and Walk Uprightly
Commit to live in a manner that will increase your spiritual capacity to receive revelation. As President Nelson has invited, “choose to do the spiritual work required to enjoy the gift of the Holy Ghost and hear the voice of the Spirit more frequently and more clearly.” Find ways to invite the Spirit into your life through daily patterns of righteousness, including daily repentance.
Remember the Covenant
Attend the Temple five times between now and leaving for our Nauvoo trip. Participating in Temple ordinances helps us remember the covenants we have made at baptism and turns our hearts to our ancestors. Attending the Temple will be a highlight of our trip to Nauvoo. Strive to identify one or more ancestors who need temple ordinances and prepare to do the work for those individuals in the Nauvoo temple. Do everything you can to establish the Temple of the Lord as the great symbol of your membership.
“Each of you is an integral member of the Lord’s battalion who was sent to earth at this most crucial time to help gather Israel. The gathering of Israel in the latter days began in many ways at the places we will have the opportunity to visit. Our prayer as a Stake Presidency is that as we visit these sacred sites, you will have experiences with the Spirit that allow you to feel of our Father’s infinite love for you individually and encourage you in the sacred work of gathering Israel on both sides of the veil as you ‘remember the covenant’ and keep on the covenant path.”
